This project will develop from my current work which deals with the underlying societal problem of artificial values created through consumerism. The Webster definition of skin is an external membranous, a hide, a husk, peel, wool and lastly a vessel and to cover superficially. The skin is a vessel. Yet the dynamic and functionality of skin lays within its layers. By doing so, I am exposing the invisible nature of skin and value beyond its function as a container. I use the skin as a metaphor to deconstruct the meaning of the objects, by manipulating them to the point where they are unrecognizable and detached from their original purpose; with this, I assign them a new value.
