Description
Freshly roasted coffee Beans poured out on a white backdrop. I admit it I am a coffee snob. I like my coffee fresh and strong. I started roasting my own green coffee beans when our local roaster closed shop. I had become so use to the aromatic fresh roast that I could not get myself to go back to the stale coffee found in most grocery stores. I gathered I had nothing to lose I went on my search of finding a source for organic green beans. The first few batches I burned and my dog did not like the smoke since the fire alarm kept going off. A coffee roaster friend gave me some tips and my roasting outcome improved a great deal. I have been roasting my own coffee since and not looked back. I shop for my green coffee beans much as I would for a good bottle of wine. I read the green coffee notes and decide which beans I buy. The fun comes when I have a collection of different green beans and make my own blend.
Roasting coffee transforms the chemical and physical properties of green coffee beans into roasted coffee products. The roasting process is what produces the characteristic flavor of coffee by causing the green coffee beans to change in taste.
Coffee is a brewed drink prepared from roasted coffee beans, which are the seeds of berries from the Coffea plant. The genus Coffea is native to tropical Africa and Madagascar, the Comoros, Mauritius, and RĂ©union in the Indian Ocean. The plant was exported from Africa to countries around the world.
