Graham Cracker Trees are the perfect solution for all those leftover corners from making graham cracker houses. They are cute, great for the desk, can serve as a place card at the holiday table. Who would not love to receive a little treat like those little graham trees? Add some sugar-coated sunflower seeds and bring color into this little delightful cookie. This is a simple no bake arts and craft and home decoration.
Direction:
You need: 1 box graham crackers, for icing: egg whites, powder sugar, creme of Tatar. Search for a good Royal Icing recipe for gingerbread houses. Those are nice and stiff and work like glue.
1) Cut graham crackers first in squares. Keep 1 square to use as base.
2) Cut squares in half diagonally to make triangles
3) Make the royal icing. Whip egg white to peak, add cream of Tatar and sugar slowly wile continuing whipping until icing is stiff. Fill into pastry bag to decorate your trees.
4) Put a cross of icing on the square graham cracker base. Place one triangle at a time using icing in the center to hold them together. Ones all triangles are places finish of the outer edges with decorative icing swirls.
5) Let dry for a day ( place in warm oven to speed up drying)
6) Use clear wrap and ribbons to wrap them up to give as gifts.
